The cabinet card also known as the studio card is usually a paper image on a card board backing. In 1866 Edward Wilson helped adopt the album sized cabinet card image4 X 51/2 inches on cards of 41/4 X 61/2 inch hard card backing to take the place of the smaller CDV.
