Daguerreotypes are silver on copper with image on the silver side.
Ambrotypes are negatives on glass with black backing.
Tintypes are negatives on thin japanned iron with black backing.
Cabinet Cards also known as Studio cards are paper images on a 4" X 6" cardboard mount.
CDV's are paper images on a 2 1/2" X 4 1/4" cardboard mount.
Stereoviews are two 3 X 3 1/4" images mounted on a 3 1/2 X 7" cardboard mount. When viewed using a stereoviewer images appear in 3D.
Paper images are all images developed on paper using developer and fixer.
Negatives are both glass and plastic in various sizes from 35mm up to 8 X 10.
Advertising shows any image with a product or ad in it

Business/Retail includes all buildings interior and exterior that conduct business.
Education images include students and buildings.
Erotic images are for adults. These were images showing some nudity but no porn.
Ethnic images include all minorities.
Kids/Toys are images of children with toys in the image.
Military images include everything from the Civil War thru WW1.
Music images containing an insturment or vocals.
Occupations are all images showing the uniform or work place.
Organizations are images of various groups or formal organizations.
Political images are specific to political parties or meetings.
Sports includes all sports from cricket to basketball.
Transportation includes images of plans, trains and vechiles.
Unusal images contain anything that would be unusual or out of the norm.
Western images are of cowboys, indians and locations west of the Misssisssippi.
Working Women are images of women in various occupations or jobs.
